R-448A combines HFC and HFO components to cut global warming potential to roughly a third of R-404A while holding capacity and efficiency close enough to serve as a retrofit for low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration.
It is a zeotropic blend with meaningful glide: charge as a liquid from an upright cylinder, size expansion devices for the glide, and confirm lubricant compatibility (normally POE) before a retrofit.

Venting refrigerant to the atmosphere is prohibited; recover it with approved equipment. Confirm the refrigerant against the equipment nameplate before charging — refrigerants are not interchangeable, and the wrong charge can damage equipment and void its warranty.
Cylinders ship non-refillable and single-use. Do not refill, heat above 125 °F (52 °C), or transport a cylinder outside its upright, secured position.
