The NPE-240S2 is the largest single unit in the NPE-2 S range. Its useful trait is not only the 199,900 BTU/h ceiling but the width of its modulation: it fires as low as 13,300 BTU/h and holds temperature down to a 0.5 GPM draw, so a hand wash does not cycle it the way an oversized appliance normally would.
At a 35°F rise it supplies up to 11.2 GPM — the right size for a large home, a house with a high-flow shower system, or a light commercial hot water load. Its 0.96 UEF earns ENERGY STAR certification, and the cabinet mounts indoors or outdoors.
